Bin Laden Vows More Terror, Spokesman Says
Osama bin Laden and his No. 2 man are alive and well and their Al Qaeda network is ready to attack new U.S. targets, a spokesman said in audiotaped remarks aired today. The message also claimed responsibility for a deadly April attack on a Jewish synagogue in Tunisia.
The Al Jazeera TV network in Qatar said it received the recorded message from Sulaiman abu Ghaith, Bin Laden’s spokesman.
The authenticity of the remarks could not be independently confirmed. There was no immediate reaction from the White House.
It was not clear when the tape, monitored in Beirut, was made or how the TV network obtained it. No comment from the station was available.
