Delay Sought on PG&E; Bid for Fuel Storage Site

Supervisor Peg Pinard and environmentalists want the federal Nuclear Regulatory Commission to delay Pacific Gas and Electric Co.’s application to build a spent fuel storage facility at the Diablo Canyon nuclear power plant.
They said PG&E;’s bankruptcy and proposed corporate reorganization raise too many questions about the plant’s future and the company’s viability.
