A Minnesota obstetrician accused of killing her 13-year-old son contends a child pornography ring may be funding her defense against her will and is not allowing her access to a fair trial.

During an interview Thursday with two Bay Area media outlets, Donna Anderson recited a rambling list of names, her work history and vague allegations.

Anderson, 48, is being held in the San Mateo County Jail’s medical wing on charges she stabbed her son, Stephen Burns, to death Feb. 24 in her ex-husband’s home.

Anderson, who lives in Shoreview, Minn., quit her job last month as an obstetrician at Regions Hospital in St. Paul. Her son was planning to live with relatives in the Bay Area.

Anderson’s court-appointed attorney, Jeff Boyarsky, said Thursday he may pursue an insanity defense in the case, but cautioned it’s still too early to say for sure.
