Hit Maker Selling His Encino Digs

Smokey Robinson has put his longtime gated estate in Encino on the market at $2.5 million.

The Grammy Award-winning recording artist-songwriter bought the home around 1989. Since then, he has had the house completely remodeled in a renovation that took an estimated three years.

Celebrity tenant--Princess Diana did not live in the Beverly Hills home once leased by Dodi Fayed (Hot Property, March 3), according to Realtor Joe Babajian, who now has the listing. Babajian said last week that he had a phone call from a spokesman for Fayed’s father, Mohammed Fayed, saying that his son leased the house before he and the princess were a couple.

Robinson is planning to get married in May and wants to start his new life in a new home, which he has not yet purchased.

Built in 1912, the house he is selling has five bedrooms and a sun room in about 6,200 square feet.

On 1.7 acres of park-like grounds, the Southern Colonial-style home also has a waterfall, a stream, two fountains, a large pool with a spa, a gazebo, a guest house, a gym, a putting green, a motor court and a four-car, detached garage.

Robinson, 62, first made it big in the ‘60s with a group he formed called the Miracles. After leaving the Miracles in 1972, he scored such solo hits as “A Quiet Storm” and “Cruisin.’” He wrote or co-wrote such popular tunes as “My Girl” for the Temptations, “Ain’t That Peculiar?” for Marvin Gaye and “Don’t Mess With Bill” for the Marvelettes.

The Motown superstar, who is in the Rock and Roll and Songwriters halls of fame, recently released the Latin-flavored single, “Tu Me Besas Muy Rico” (“You Kiss Me So Good”).

Paul Cargile, John Isaac and J. Leslie Sapiandante of Cargile & Co., Westchester, have the listing.

Tracey Gold, who is probably best known for playing Carol Seaver in the hit ABC sitcom “Growing Pains” (1985-1992), and her husband, Roby Marshall, have listed their Studio City home at $620,000.

The couple are selling their home because they are building a larger one farther north in the L.A. area. They have owned their Studio City home since it was built in 1993.

The traditional-style house has three bedrooms and 2.5 bathrooms in about 2,500 square feet. The master suite has a vaulted ceiling and a fireplace, and there is a breakfast area that opens to a large family room with a fireplace and a wet bar.

Gold, 32, recently appeared in “The Vagina Monologues” at the Canon Theatre in Beverly Hills and has appeared in such TV films as “The Growing Pains Movie” (2000), “Stolen From the Heart” (2000) and “A Crime of Passion” (1999). She has had guest roles in “Touched by an Angel” and “Diagnosis Murder.”

Gold’s husband is a high school teacher.

Producer Ori Marmur and his wife, Alyson, have purchased the former home of talent executive Leslie Siebert and her producer-personal manager husband, Steven, for close to its $1.7-million asking price.

The Marmurs bought a Spanish-style house, built in the ‘20s, with four bedrooms in 3,500 square feet in Holmby Hills.

The Sieberts bought a six-bedroom, 5,700-square-foot house in Holmby Hills last year for about $2.8 million.

Leslie Siebert, a partner at the Gersh Agency, has had such clients as David Schwimmer, Tobey Maguire and Marcia Gay Harden. Steven Siebert, who owns Lighthouse Entertainment, has represented David Arquette and Julia Stiles.

Ori Marmur, who just turned 30, is an executive vice president of production at Mandalay Pictures. He just finished the movie “Serving Sara,” starring Elizabeth Hurley, and is working on “Beyond Borders,” with Angelina Jolie.

He also oversaw production on “Donnie Brasco” (1997), “Enemy at the Gates” (2001) and “The Score” (2001).

Alyson Marmur is an event planner for nonprofit charities.

Kurt Rappaport and Richard Ehrlich of Westside Estate Agency, Beverly Hills, represented the Marmurs; Loren Judd of the same office represented the Sieberts.

A Hollywood Hills home built in the early ‘40s for actor Gregory Peck and sold shortly afterward to actor Boris Karloff has been listed at about $2.9 million.

The home has been owned for about three years by Seth Ersoff, an image consultant/producer, and his wife, Victoria, an attorney. They’re selling because they bought a Paul Williams-designed home in Beverly Hills.

The Hollywood Hills house has six bedrooms and 6.5 bathrooms in 5,000-plus square feet. The kitchen and bathrooms have been remodeled. The master suite occupies almost the entire second floor and has a private patio, hidden office/library and a large walk-in closet.

The house sits on half an acre, and there is another half-acre easement next to the property, which backs up to a 500-acre wildlife preserve in Franklin Canyon. Behind a gated driveway, the home also has a play area and a pool.

Karloff, who became a star playing Frankenstein in 1931, created a garden pathway from the house into Franklin Canyon. Another former owner grew orchids on the property for 45 years. There are still some orchids to be found among the trees and succulents.

Jack H. Harris, who produced “The Blob” (1958) and 32 other films, and his wife, motivational speaker Judith Parker Harris, have sold their Malibu condo of 14 years for close to its asking price of $749,000.

They will continue to make their primary residence in Beverly Hills.

The one-bedroom Malibu condo, on a sandy beach, is in a six-unit building in which the late Liberace owned two units for many years.

Bob Rubenstein of Coldwell Banker, Malibu, has the listing, sources said.

A Beverly Hills home that was once leased to Dodi Fayed and Princess Diana has come on the market at $4.85 million to buy or $24,500 a month to lease.

The six-bedroom, 7,000-square-foot house is behind gates and has picturesque gardens and a pool. The French-style home also has a ballroom.
