Verizon Advances Date for Change to Solo CEO

Verizon Communications Inc. said Ivan Seidenberg would become sole chief executive three months earlier than planned. The move is effective April 1. Seidenberg shares the CEO title with Charles Lee, who will remain chairman until he retires June 30. Seidenberg, 55, and Lee, 62, have shared the CEO title since Bell Atlantic Corp. and GTE Corp. combined to form Verizon in 2000. Shares rose 38 cents to $47.02 on the New York Stock Exchange.
