Investigators Blame Pilot Error for Crash
Pilot error was to blame for the Feb. 12 crash of an airliner that killed all 119 people aboard, Iran’s Civil Aviation Organization said.
Investigators who studied the data on the two “black boxes” on the Russian-built Tupolev-154 have “unanimously agreed that pilot error was the cause of the crash,” civil aviation spokesman Reza Jaafarzadeh told state-run television.
He gave no further details, and did not explain how the pilot erred.
Iran Air Tours’ Flight 956 was on a domestic flight when it slammed into a mountain near the city of Khorramabad, about 230 miles southwest of Tehran, the capital.
