Chick Urges DWP to Pay Vendor Bills on Time
Continuing her scrutiny of the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power, city Controller Laura Chick on Monday sent another terse missive to agency officials, this time urging them to pay their vendors on time.
“As I’ve asked before, why did the DWP advance $100,000 out of trust funds to the Project Restore black tie gala, which doesn’t take place until April 27th, yet has not paid $6,002.11 to a small business owner for a BBQ luncheon on October third of last year?” Chick asked in a letter sent to DWP General Manager David H. Wiggs.
In a letter back to Chick, Wiggs said he and his staff would address her concerns.
