Azusa Pacific Falls Short

DuJuan Brown scored 33 points Monday, propelling Oklahoma Baptist to a 93-81 victory over Azusa Pacific in the semifinals of the NAIA Division I men’s basketball tournament at Kansas City, Mo.

Caleb Gervin scored 22 points and John Bourne had 20 for Azusa Pacific, which finished 28-8.

Oklahoma Baptist (32-4) will face Sooner Athletic Conference rival Science & Arts tonight in the championship game.

Science & Arts (Okla.) 111, Barat (Ill.) 106--Center Randy Hughes had 26 points and 15 rebounds, and three other players scored at least 20 points for the Drovers (23-7), who outscored the Bulldogs (33-6) in overtime, 13-8.

In the men’s NIT:

Syracuse 66, Butler 65--Preston Shumpert scored six of his 36 points in overtime to lift the Orangemen (22-11) to victory over the Bulldogs (26-6) in a second-round game at Syracuse, N.Y.

Richmond 67, Minnesota 66--Mike Skrocki scored 28 points and the Spiders (22-13) beat the Gophers (18-13) at Minneapolis.
