From Staff and Wire Reports

Scientists are closely watching more than 500 kids in the Salinas Valley. UC Berkeley scientists and a variety of local agencies want to know how environmental pollutants such as pesticides, pollens and mold affect the health of children and what can be done to prevent exposure.

The Center for Health Assessment of the Mothers and Children of Salinas has been following these children, many from farm worker families, since before they were born. The study is to determine how pollutants sneak into homes.
