Official Placed on Leave After Security Violation
The airport director who skirted security before boarding a plane to Dallas, forcing dozens of passengers to be re-screened at the Texas airport, has been placed on administrative leave.
City Manager Dan Hobbs placed transportation director Charles Hayes on paid leave Friday and ordered an investigation into Hayes’ security violation at the Fresno Yosemite International Airport on March 14.
Hayes, who was en route to a Federal Aviation Administration meeting in Washington, said he “totally screwed up” by not passing through metal detectors.
