Pakistan Seeks to Identify Church Attacker
Pakistani police released a composite sketch Tuesday of the man who threw a grenade into a church here March 17, killing four worshipers and himself.
The sketch was based on descriptions of witnesses in the church, police spokesman Sheikh Zubair Ahmad said. The suspect’s nationality was not known, but the sketch shows a dark-haired man in his 20s.
The suspect died in the blast when a grenade exploded in his hand accidentally, Ahmad said. DNA samples have been sent to the U.S. in an effort to identify him.
Two Americans, Barbara Green and her daughter Kristen Wormsley, 17, died along with a Pakistani and an Afghan. Dozens were injured.
Ahmad said the government was offering a reward for information leading to the identity of the attacker and any accomplices.
