“A Day Fit for a Queen and King” (March 20) addressed the very serious issue of poverty among women in developing countries. While I admire the king and queen of Jordan for supporting the Global Endowment for the Poor, I was dismayed to read the third paragraph of the story. During the event to unveil the program, King Abdullah II “found himself commiserating with Sharon Stone over the difficulties of getting their children into private school.”

Can you say insensitive? May I suggest that while the rich and famous are trying to be helpful and empathetic they look inside a little deeper and work on being grateful.
