Serving Whose People?

Share

So state Sen. Jim Brulte (R-Rancho Cucamonga) and Assemblyman Dave Cox (R-Fair Oaks) see nothing wrong with soliciting funds from Enron while California is investigating the company for holding its people hostage (“State GOP Sought Donations From Enron,” April 29). Presumably the state legislators are sent to Sacramento to represent the people, and presumably they are there to protect the people’s legitimate needs--such as reliable and reasonably priced electric power. As a price-fixing/power-withholding investigation got down and dirty, just how vigorous would Brulte and Cox be at digging up unpleasant information about their benefactor?

These panderers make a great case for campaign finance reform.
