Thoughtful Gentleman Vidal Sassoon

I’d like to thank Steven Ivory for his article about Vidal Sassoon (“When One Door Closes,” Men’s Spring Fashion Issue, April 7). I heartily agree that Sassoon is a gentleman. I met him years ago and found him warm, kind and in fit condition. We hit it off well; it was not difficult to warm up to him. I appreciate how Ivory’s article allowed thousands of people to get a brief look at the thoughtfulness of this gentleman.

It was wonderful to read the touching and slightly O’Henry-esque piece about Sassoon. I really enjoyed it--especially in an age when the media seem to build up our idols only to tear them down.
