Summer’s All-Comers Track Expands Schedule

The L.A. Track Nuts have signed to become co-hosts of the all-comers track meets this summer with the Los Angeles Unified School District.

The LAUSD had previously agreed to add another stadium venue somewhere in East Los Angeles to the June 25-July 30 schedule, which includes Tuesday meets at San Pedro High, Wednesday meets at Van Nuys Birmingham High and Thursday meets at the new site.

The L.A. Track Nuts, a nonprofit organization, will look to provide funding for more venues as well as to provide busing for inner city youths to the schools in outlying areas.

Each all-comers meet includes competition for elementary and middle-school participants at 6 p.m., followed by high school and adult competition beginning at 8 p.m. There are no entry fees for competitors.
