Conexant, Carlyle Name Joint Operation

Chip maker Conexant Systems Inc. and buyout firm Carlyle Group Inc. have named their new manufacturing joint venture operation Jazz Semiconductor Inc.

Jazz Semiconductor is the former Conexant specialty manufacturing facility in Newport Beach that was contributed to the joint venture for $20 million as part of a plan to spin off two other units.
