Group Forms to Keep Chargers From Leaving

A group of businesspeople is forming to look for ways to keep the San Diego Chargers from being lured to Los Angeles by the prospect of a new stadium.

Ron Fowler, chairman of Mesa Distributing and head of the San Diego Host Committee for next year’s Super Bowl, said one possibility for keeping the Chargers would be a public-private partnership to improve Qualcomm Stadium or build a new one as part of a larger redevelopment plan.
