What Are You Drinking?

“The ’99 Phelps Carneros Chardonnay. I’m not a big Chardonnay fan, but this has such wonderful structure and taste--all the elements are in balance. So many Chardonnays are so over the top with oak, but this is delicious, without being over the top. And so many are so big that they saturate the palate; this is refreshing. The first object of any wine is to be delicious, and I do enjoy this one.”
