Johnson obituary--Ward G. Johnson’s obituary in Wednesday’s California section was actually an accounting of the life of his father, George R. Johnson. Ward Johnson is very much alive and the information in the obituary otherwise accurately reflects the life and career of his father, a Long Beach civic leader who died Saturday at his home in Rolling Hills.

Born in Bryce, Utah, Johnson grew up in Long Beach and earned his undergraduate and law degrees at UC Berkeley. He was an FBI special agent before establishing his law practice.

--- UNPUBLISHED NOTE --- This story has been edited to remove Ward G. Johnson’s name, which was erroneously published, and replace it with George R. Johnson, who is the correct subject of this obituary. A correction ran, which is also attached here. --- END NOTE ---
