Ex-County Worker Faces Embezzlement Charge

A former Humboldt County employee has been charged with embezzling more than $100,000 in the name of her grandmother.
Denise Clair “Dee Dee” Landry, 39, was an eligibility supervisor for the Department of Health and Human Services when the embezzlement took place, according to Dist. Atty. Terry Farmer.
Landry was able to qualify people for benefits and also was in charge of a “special circumstances” fund that let her authorize the distribution of money.
