* Intuit Inc., a Mountain View, Calif., maker of tax and accounting software, said it had a fiscal third-quarter profit of $144.5 million, or 67 cents a share, compared with a loss of $14.3 million, or 7 cents a share, a year earlier. Sales climbed 28%, to $545.2 million.

* Infogrames Entertainment, Europe’s biggest video game maker, said it won’t meet its earnings target this fiscal year as it postpones the release of several games. Its European-listed shares fell 8%.

* EUniverse, a Los Angeles operator of Web sites, reported a first-quarter profit of $2.4 million, or 8 cents a share, compared with a loss of $17.2 million, or 93 cents a share, a year earlier. Revenue jumped 167%, to $11.3 million.
