Debra Yang Sworn In as U.S. Attorney
Debra W. Yang was sworn in during a private ceremony Friday as the new U.S. attorney in Los Angeles.
Yang, 42, the first Asian American to head the office, will oversee federal prosecutions in the Central District of California, a sprawling region that stretches from Orange County to San Luis Obispo County.
She was given the oath of office by U.S. District Judge Ronald S.W. Lew.
In a written statement, Yang said she looks forward to “continuing the office’s long tradition of having highly talented attorneys prosecute the most significant cases in the nation.”
