Explosive Device Found in Car Forces Evacuation
An explosive device found in a car at a Glendale gas station Friday forced the evacuation of everyone within several blocks of Colorado Boulevard for more than four hours, authorities said.
The city’s bomb squad “said it appeared to be a good explosive device,” said police Sgt. Bill Halvosen. It was taken away to be destroyed.
The device was found in the parked car at 4:45 p.m. at Colorado and Pacific Avenue, officers said.
Police and the sheriff’s arson-explosives detail are investigating.
