A ferry sank Thursday in a late-night storm in southern Bangladesh, leaving about 70 people missing, police said. The accident came just three weeks after more than 300 people died in a similar disaster.

The Suhat was carrying about 100 passengers when it sank in the Boleshwar River in Pirojpur district, about 85 miles south of the capital, Dhaka, area Police Chief Abdullah Azad Chowdhury said.

Five bodies were found and about 25 people swam to shore, Chowdhury said.
