Voters Choose to Keep Ousted County Judge
From Times Wire Reports
A San Joaquin County judge removed from the bench for fixing parking tickets and trying to influence a fellow judge has been reelected by voters.
Michael Platt, 53, received 60% of the vote Tuesday. Five people challenged Platt as write-in candidates, forcing his name onto the November ballot.
Despite his victory, Platt cannot return to the courthouse unless the state Supreme Court overturns the Commission on Judicial Performance’s order removing him from the bench.
