Strong Winds, Heat Worsen Wildfires

Strong winds, high temperatures and low humidity combined to worsen the wildfire situation in eastern Australia, with one major blaze threatening a city near Sydney.
Officials said 95 fires were burning across the state of New South Wales. Strong westerly winds were expected to push a fire toward Wollongong, about 60 miles south of Sydney.
