Explosions ripped through two Serbian Orthodox churches in western Kosovo, the first such attacks in more than a year, a U.N. spokesman said.

Explosives damaged the interior of a church in Djurakovac, 30 miles west of Pristina, the province’s capital, and completely destroyed a second church in the nearby village of Ljubovo, U.N. spokesman Andrea Angeli said.

No one was injured in the explosions late Saturday and early Sunday, Angeli said. An investigation was underway.
