Nissan Earnings Up 25% as Sales Rise 10%

Still on a roll under a revival with French partner Renault, Nissan Motor Co. reported a 25% rise in profit for the first half of its fiscal year as sales rose 10%.

Japan’s third-biggest automaker earned $2.4 billion in the six months through September, up from $1.9 billion a year ago, and were in line with the preliminary outlook the automaker gave last month.

Net sales edged up 10% to $27 billion. Vehicle sales totaled 1.39 million globally, up 7.5% from 1.29 million a year earlier.
