2000 Vietti Barbera d’Asti ‘Tre Vigne’

Share

Barbera’s lush fruit, lively acidity and soft tannins make for easy, pleasurable drinking. But this example, from a famous Barolo producer, is much more than that -- it’s an absolutely gorgeous wine. Using grapes from three vineyards in the Asti area, it shows beautiful fruit and a bright thread of acidity that sings on the palate.

This supple and delicious wine, tasting of plums and cherries, is anything but simple. And this year, it just may be the bottle to stand up to all the competing flavors in a Thanksgiving dinner.

By the way, if you come across the 1999 vintage somewhere, grab a bottle of that too. It’s a lot of juice for the money.
