Fog Detection System Planned on California 99
From Times Staff and Wire Reports
The state Transportation Department will place a fog detection system on California Highway 99 to help San Joaquin Valley residents drive in dense fog, officials said.
The system will send an alert to the Caltrans traffic management center, which will then issue alerts over radio, on freeway signs and to the California Highway Patrol, said Dana Cowell, deputy district director of Caltrans’ District 10.
