‘Moscow’ leaves Properties address

Share

Why the sudden change in the lineup of the Hot Properties series at [Inside] the Ford?

A “misunderstanding,” said Steven Leigh Morris, whose play “Moscow” was dropped.

According to Morris, who’s also the theater editor of the LA Weekly, he and Tracy Young, who would have directed his play, “were blindsided by assumptions we had both made” in the process of preparing for the production. “You don’t want to go into it without being on the same page.”

Morris’ play was going to be presented by Both, the new theater company from former Actors’ Gang mainstays Young and Chris Wells, Jan. 18 to Feb. 23. But Both decided to do Wells’ “Liberty!” instead.

“Our visions of what we wanted the production to be diverged,” Young said, “and we found that out late in the game.”
