US Airways to Cut 2,500 More Jobs

US Airways Group Inc. will cut an additional 2,500 jobs, or 7.1% of its work force, and close a maintenance base and a reservations center in Florida as it tries to emerge from bankruptcy protection.
The airline also said it will seek work-rule and benefits changes from unions to compete with low-fare, low-cost rivals. Shares of Arlington, Va.-based US Airways were unchanged at 55 cents in over-the-counter trading.
