Sharing the Good News

It was refreshing and encouraging to read a positive article about the Catholic Church community in Los Angeles (“Church Reopens Stronger Since ’99 Fire,” Nov. 24). The parishioners of St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church showed deep faith, perseverance, trust and dedication in rebuilding the burned edifice. A testament to the Gospel values of sharing and service to those in need was expressed by the other parishes in the area, and especially St. Sophia Greek Orthodox Cathedral, in offering their facilities to St. Thomas parishioners. Scandals, money problems, threats of war cannot dampen the spirits of those who believe in God. Thank you for printing this article of good news.
