General Declared Unfit for War Crimes Trial
From Times Wire Reports
A Croatian court declared a general medically unfit for trial, paving the way for him to avoid prosecution on war crimes charges at the U.N. tribunal at The Hague.
The court has informed the government about its findings on Gen. Janko Bobetko, and the government is obliged to tell the tribunal that it cannot arrest him. The retired career soldier is accused of failing to prevent, probe or punish the perpetrators of atrocities against Croatian Serb civilians during a Croatian offensive in 1993.
