Aston Martin Is Featured Car at Newport Coast Concours

Share

Southern California automotive buffs will be heading to Irvine on Sunday for the 20th anniversary of the Newport Coast Concours d’Elegance.

Aston Martin is the featured marque at the show, one of a quartet of large-scale concours, or classic automobile shows, held in California each year (Pebble Beach, Palos Verdes and Torrey Pines are the other venues), and racing legend Sir Stirling Moss will be on hand to talk about them.

Other features of the daylong show include an automotive fine arts exhibit, a Corvette display to commemorate the 50th anniversary of Chevrolet’s two-seat sports car; and a selection of cars that raced for speed records on the Bonneville Salt Flats in Utah.

Proceeds from the concours benefit the nonprofit Assessment and Treatment Services Center, a 28-year-old organization that works with families to divert children from behavior that interferes with school success and the development of healthy personal relationships.

Tickets are $25 for adults and $20 for seniors. Children under 12 are admitted free. A family package of four tickets for $75 also is available. Parking is $5.

The concours is being held this year at Hidden Valley Park in Irvine, just off Irvine Center Drive next to the Verizon Wireless Amphitheater and Wild Rivers Park.
