Santa Anita, which will feature the Ancient Title Breeders’ Cup Handicap, the Norfolk Stakes, the Oak Tree Mile and the Yellow Ribbon, isn’t the only track offering four graded stakes and a pick six carryover today.

Three weeks before the Breeders’ Cup at Arlington Park, Belmont Park has significant preps for the Juvenile Fillies ($500,000 Frizette), the Mile ($350,000 Kelso Breeders’ Cup Handicap), the Distaff ($750,000 Beldame) and the Juvenile ($500,000 Champagne) this afternoon and a three-day carryover approaching $390,000.

Trainer Bob Baffert will send out Santa Catarina in the 1 1/16-mile Frizette and Del Mar Futurity winner Icecoldbeeratreds in the 1 1/16-mile Champagne.

Santa Anita has a pick six carryover of $73,039.

Race of the day: Prepping for another shot at the Breeders’ Cup Sprint, filly Xtra Heat will attempt to beat a small field of males in the $250,000 Phoenix Breeders’ Cup at Keeneland.

Who’s hot: Marcelo Polanco. The trainer had a winner each of the first two days at Oak Tree, winning with longshot Special Willy on Wednesday and Cee’s Valley Girl on Thursday.

Who’s not: Ricky Frazier. The jockey was winless in his first 22 at Bay Meadows.

Exotically speaking: A trifecta in the second keying Magic Horn on top with Trampus Too, Martel and Kolinor in the two hole and all in the third spot.
