Officer Kills Suspect After Car Chase
A Redondo Beach police officer shot and killed a man Sunday night after a chase with a stolen sport utility vehicle that ended in Los Angeles, authorities said.
The man suspected of driving the stolen vehicle was pursued by at least three patrol cars from Redondo Beach through Manhattan Beach and Hermosa Beach, said Redondo Beach Police Sgt. Robert Remington.
The man was shot about 7:30 p.m. at an onramp to the Century Freeway at Imperial Highway and El Segundo Boulevard.
The man, who was not identified, died at the scene, he said. Police declined to immediately say cause of the shooting.
