Leftist in the Lead for Presidential Runoff

A new poll confirmed the commanding lead of leftist candidate Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva for Brazil’s Oct. 27 presidential runoff election.
The survey by the Vox Populi polling institute for Brasilia’s Correio Braziliense newspaper shows the Workers’ Party candidate with 66.5% support of respondents. Jose Serra of the ruling Social Democratic Party of Brazil had the support of 33.5%.
