From Times Wire Reports

Efforts to designate the Monterey Trailer Park a cultural monument moved forward Tuesday with the endorsement of a key City Council committee.

The 1.7-acre trailer park, which dates to the 1920s, has the backing of the city Cultural Heritage Commission. The designation is opposed by property owner Peter Young. The issue is expected to reach the full council next week.
