From Times Wire Reports

Daniel Mahony, former candidate for the Conservative Party nomination for lieutenant governor, was indicted on two counts of illegal voting, a crime punishable by up to four years in prison.

Mahony, 47, is accused of voting twice in two general elections in New York under different spellings of his name while being listed as living at two addresses.

He pleaded not guilty.

Mahony was gubernatorial candidate Thomas Golisano’s running mate for the Conservative nomination, but after the voting questions arose, he said he was no longer eligible to run for the office because he had moved to Connecticut.
