City Council Opposes Preemptive War in Iraq

The City Council approved an antiwar resolution after listening to passionate calls for peace.
The resolution, opposing a unilateral preemptive military strike against Iraq, passed Tuesday on a 4-1 vote. Councilman Gregg Hart voted no, and Councilman Dan Secord abstained, saying it was inappropriate for the council to consider the issue.
