Meteoric Looking Good for Golden State Futurity

Share

Meteoric, whose only loss in eight starts came in the All American Futurity at Ruidoso Downs on Sept. 2, started a new winning streak Saturday night.

In the process, the 2-year-old earned the fastest qualifying time for the $733,950 Golden State Futurity, which comes up Nov. 2.

Owned by Dutch Masters III and trained by Lin Melton -- who had two others, Royal Miracle Dip and Twotimesthefly, qualify for the Futurity final -- Meteoric won his trial by three-quarters of a length. He completed the 400 yards in 19.67 seconds.

Special Queen SA was scratched out of the fifth trial because of a cough.
