Man Gets Life for Murder, Rape of Baby
A father convicted of raping and beating to death his 3-month-old daughter was sentenced Thursday to life in prison without parole by a Superior Court judge who called the crimes possibly the worst he had seen in his 30 years in the legal justice system.
“None of my colleagues have ever seen anything this bad,” Judge Terry A. Green said.
Ramon Garcia Jr., 28, held back tears as he apologized for the May 2000 rape and killing of his daughter, Arianna.
“I apologize to everyone for everything I’ve done,” he said.
Jurors last month convicted Garcia of murder, assault on a child under 8 causing death, rape with a foreign object, and a special circumstance allegation of murder during the commission of rape with a foreign object.
