Reporters Megan Stack and Jonathan Peterson made a great team (“A Day Fear Reached a New Level,” Oct. 23) when they wrote, “Time is passing. Fall is flaming red and orange in the woods; trees weep dead leaves over empty sidewalks and the bite of winter has stolen into the air.” Alone, the passage is a beautiful description of approaching winter. Against the back story of sniper murders, the prose pushed my latent anxiety that I will fail to live to a ripe old age to a new level.
