Forget Refurbishing Crystal Cove Cottages

Re “Education Cash Awards Suspended,” Oct. 18:

Is Arthur Andersen in charge of the state budget? On one hand, the “state’s budget crisis has made it impossible to fund” the promised educational cash awards. On the other hand, in Crystal Cove the state parks department apparently has been budgeted enough money to reconstruct the dilapidated beach homes (vintage 1900s) to bring back a nostalgic feeling for beach-goers in the future. Enough already; those homes should be flattened, removed and coastal sage planted to return the beach to its natural state. Throw in a couple of restrooms and trash barrels.
