Self-Defeating Hatred
The Times has hit the nail on the head by stating that Arab bigotry and hatred toward Jews is a major obstacle to peace in the Middle East (editorial, Sept. 4). The Arab world needs to realize that its obsessive hatred of Jews ultimately hurts Arabs more than Jews. How can the Arab world expect to compete in the modern world when it fills its young people with hatred and lies instead of teaching them universal values which would allow them to thrive?
A long time ago, former Israeli Prime Minister Golda Meir stated that peace would come to the Middle East when the Arabs learned to love their children more than they hated the Jews. We should hope and pray that one day Meir’s statement will become a reality.
