Avon Breast Cancer Walks Are Still On
The Avon Foundation and Pallotta TeamWorks announced Friday that three Avon Breast Cancer 3-Day Walks, whose future has been in doubt since late August, will proceed as planned.
Pallotta TeamWorks, the event producer that also organized the California AIDS Rides, announced late last month that it had laid off 250 employees and closed its doors. The two organizations have been in discussions ever since, said Susan Heaney, director of the Avon Breast Cancer Crusade.
The details of the arrangement were not forthcoming, but a press release issued by the two organizations said they have “developed a plan for completing the remaining events,” scheduled for October in Atlanta, New York and Los Angeles.
