A top executive in Russia’s biggest oil company was seized by gunmen on his way to work, the Interior Ministry and the firm said.

Lukoil Chief Financial Officer Sergei Kukura, 48, was being driven to work when his car was stopped by masked abductors armed with Kalashnikov rifles, the company said. The assailants handcuffed Kukura’s driver and bodyguard and drove Kukura away in another car, Lukoil said.

Lukoil accounts for more than 20% of Russia’s oil exports.
