Infogrames Sales Up 103% in 4th Quarter

Infogrames Inc. said it posted a loss but it had a 103% jump in sales to $129.6 million for its fiscal fourth quarter, up from $63.9 million in the same quarter a year earlier.

The game publisher said its net loss including one-time items narrowed to $700,000 in the quarter ended June 30 from $23 million in the year-earlier period.

For the full year, Infogrames saw a 44% rise in sales to $419 million from $291.4 million in 2001. It reported a net loss of $10.9 million, or 16 cents a share, for the full year, versus a loss of $60.7 million, or $1.07 a share, a year earlier. It also posted a full-year operating profit of $1 million.

Its shares closed down 1 cent to $2.89 on Nasdaq, before the results were announced.

Infogrames is a New York unit of France-based Infogrames, which reports its financials today.
