Re “Van Nuys Flyaway Parking to Be Halved During Expansion Project,” Sept. 17: The expansion of this location should be but the first in a regionwide flyaway development project. Given the security, parking and gridlock obstacles associated with LAX, any effort to lighten the load there and distribute it regionally should be aggressively pursued, as this would lead to more efficient and prudent usage of the real estate available at LAX.
For example, if there were flyaways servicing the South Bay and Orange County, I know I would greatly prefer those options to commuting to LAX.
